Hi, I’m Keshav Chouhan. I test ChatGPT and Gemini photo prompts every week and publish the ones that hold a face.
Ganesh Chaturthi falls on Monday, 14 September 2026, with visarjan on Friday, 25 September. That’s close to two weeks of pandal visits, aarti reels and status uploads.
Most festival prompts going around give you the same picture every time: orange light, marigold wall, folded hands, plastic skin. The 11 below use real camera and lens pairings, one main light source per scene, and colour grades that read like an edited photograph. Upload a clear front-facing photo and paste the prompt as it is.
Ganesh puja prompt for the home aarti frame
Camphor flame as the only light source. The brass thali bounces a hard shine back onto the face, which stops it looking like a flat orange filter.

Prompt
Keep the face from the uploaded reference exactly as it is, including bone structure, eye shape, brows, lip line, skin tone and natural skin marks. The same person sits cross-legged on a red woven mat during evening aarti, holding a brass thali with a lit camphor flame. A small clay Ganesha idol rests on a low wooden chowki behind, dressed in cream silk with a thin gold border. The only light source is the flame, throwing warm uplight across the jaw and a hard shine off the brass. The background falls into a deep unlit shadow with a cool blue edge. Shot on Sony A7R V, 85mm f/1.4, focus locked on the eyes. Visible pores, no skin smoothing, warm highlights with cooler shadows. Aspect ratio 4:5. Place mbapromptwala.com as a thin white semi-transparent watermark in the bottom-left corner.
Ganesh chaturthi prompt with a blue hour pandal
At blue hour the pandal LEDs read cyan and magenta against a deep navy sky, and the skin stays neutral.

Prompt
Preserve the uploaded person’s facial identity without any alteration to features, proportions or complexion. Full-length frame of the same person standing slightly off-centre on a wet street at blue hour, a tall decorated Ganesha pandal glowing behind with cyan and magenta LED panels. Deep indigo cotton kurta with a mustard stole, sleeves rolled once. Hands relaxed, weight on one leg, looking away from the lens. Wet tarmac reflects the pandal lights. Shot on Canon EOS R5, 35mm f/1.4, subject sharp and the crowd behind falling soft. Neutral skin tones against saturated background colour, mild lens flare from a string light. Aspect ratio 4:5. Add a small mbapromptwala.com watermark in thin white lettering at the bottom-left.
Ganesh chaturthi realistic photo prompt in documentary style
No posing in this one. Slow shutter, real motion blur on the dhol players, film stock colour.

Prompt
The uploaded reference face must carry over unchanged: same features, same skin tone, same expression lines. Candid documentary frame of the same person mid-walk in a visarjan procession, gulal dust hanging in the air, dhol-tasha players behind them blurred by motion. Off-white kurta stained with pink and yellow gulal, damp at the collar. Caught mid-laugh, not looking at the camera. Shot on Nikon Z8, 50mm f/1.2, shutter dragged to 1/60 so the crowd smears while the face stays sharp. Kodak Portra 400 colour response, slight highlight halation, fine grain, minor chromatic aberration at the frame edge. Nothing retouched. Aspect ratio 3:2 horizontal. Sign the frame with mbapromptwala.com bottom-left in thin white type.
Ganesh chaturthi photo editing prompt for your own photo
Use this on a real photo you shot at a pandal. It asks for the grade and cleanup only, so the scene stays yours.

Prompt
Edit the uploaded photograph without redrawing the person. Keep the face, body, pose, clothing and background exactly as shot. Apply a colour grade: lift shadows slightly and push them cool blue, hold highlights warm, drop overall saturation about 10 percent, then bring saffron and marigold tones back up on their own. Dodge the face gently to separate it from the background, burn the frame edges. Add soft halation around every light source and light 35mm grain across the image. Remove sensor dust and stray background clutter. Retain pores, stray hair and fabric texture, no beauty smoothing, no teeth whitening. Output at original aspect ratio. Add mbapromptwala.com as a delicate white watermark in the bottom-left corner.
Ganesh chaturthi image generation prompt with a studio setup
Black paper backdrop, one beauty dish, one gelled rim light. Editorial festival styling stands out hard on a feed full of marigold walls.
Prompt
Carry the uploaded face across exactly, with no change to structure, features or tone. Studio portrait of the same person against a black paper studio backdrop, waist up, body turned three-quarters to camera and chin level. Structured deep maroon silk kurta with covered buttons and a single strand of pearls. A brass Ganesha idol sits on a pedestal just inside the frame on the right, slightly out of focus. Beauty dish high and left as key, saffron-gelled strip light behind for a rim on the shoulder and hair. Shot on Fujifilm GFX 100S, 110mm f/2. Skin rendered with real texture, deep blacks, restrained contrast, luxury magazine finish. Aspect ratio 4:5. Small mbapromptwala.com watermark, bottom-left, thin white semi-transparent.
Ganesh chaturthi poster prompt for a printable design
Built for 9:16 with dead space at the top for type. Low angle, teal and orange grade, gold foil lettering.
Prompt
Use the uploaded photo as the identity source and hold the face completely unchanged. Vertical poster composition: the same person standing lower-left in the frame in a saffron kurta and white dhoti, a huge illuminated Ganesha idol rising behind them and filling the upper right. Low camera angle looking up. Smoke drifting through a backlight, soft rays breaking around the idol’s crown. Shot on Canon R6 Mark II, 24mm f/1.8. Teal shadows against warm orange key light, deep contrast, cinematic poster finish. Leave clean empty space across the top third for typography and set the words Ganpati Bappa Morya there in gold foil serif lettering. Aspect ratio 9:16. Bottom-left corner carries mbapromptwala.com in thin white text.
Ganesh chaturthi instagram post prompt with a flash look
Direct on-camera flash at night. Harsh, slightly blown out, hard shadow on the wall behind. Every Instagram photo dump is using this look right now.
Prompt
Keep the uploaded person’s face untouched: identical features, identical skin tone, identical expression. Night-time frame of the same person on a decorated terrace, holding a steel plate of modak up towards the lens. Black kurta with fine chikankari, gold jhumka or stud depending on the reference, hair slightly windblown. Direct on-camera flash fired straight at them, blowing out the nearest highlights and dropping a hard-edged shadow on the wall behind. Fairy lights go to bokeh balls further back. Shot on a Leica Q3, fixed 28mm, slightly tilted handheld frame. Punchy contrast, cool white balance, mild vignette. Aspect ratio 4:5. Finish with mbapromptwala.com as small thin white lettering bottom-left.
Ganesh chaturthi 3d image prompt as a stop motion diorama
Handmade clay with visible fingerprints, lit and shot like a real miniature film set.
Prompt
Preserve the uploaded face as the likeness reference so the character stays recognisable. Handmade stop-motion clay diorama of the same person as a 12 cm figurine, standing beside a modelled Ganesha idol on a tiny decorated chowki. Visible thumbprints in the clay, felt kurta with stitched seams, real cotton thread garland, painted cardboard temple wall behind. Studio miniature lighting with a warm key from the left and a soft blue fill. Shot macro on a Sony A1 with a 90mm tilt-shift, shallow focus plane across the figurine’s face, background falling away. Practical set look, dust and imperfections left in, no CGI gloss. Aspect ratio 1:1. Add mbapromptwala.com bottom-left in thin white type.
Chaitra ganesh chaturthi prompt for the spring observance
Chaitra Vinayaka Chaturthi falls in Chaitra, the first month of the Hindu lunar year, around March or April. It’s a quiet one-day observance, so keep the palette pale and morning-lit instead of the September look.
Prompt
Retain the uploaded reference face with no modification to any feature or tone. Early morning frame of the same person in an open courtyard during Chaitra Vinayaka Chaturthi, seated on a stone step beside a small turmeric-yellow Ganesha idol on a banana leaf. Ivory handloom cotton with a thin pista green border, no heavy jewellery, one fresh mogra strand in the hair or at the wrist. Neem sprigs and mango blossom in a clay pot alongside. Soft 6 am sidelight, long shadows on the stone floor, cool pastel palette of white, pale green and pale yellow. Shot on Hasselblad X2D, 80mm f/2.5. Airy, low contrast, gentle highlight roll-off. Aspect ratio 3:4. Mark it with mbapromptwala.com in thin white lettering, bottom-left.
Ganesh chaturthi photo prompt for girls
Nauvari saree, temple corridor, 135mm compression. Backlight through the pallu does most of the work, so the background stays dark.
Prompt
The uploaded girl’s face must remain exactly as given, with no change to features, jawline, complexion or expression. She stands in a stone temple corridor in an emerald green nauvari saree with a gold zari border and a maroon blouse, chandrakor bindi, nath, and a single pearl choker. Jasmine wound through a low bun. One hand holds the pallu, head turned back over the shoulder towards the lens with a calm half-smile. A carved stone Ganesha shrine glows warm at the far end of the corridor behind her. Shot on Sony A1, 135mm f/1.8, background compressed and heavily blurred. Strong backlight rims the saree and hair, front fill kept soft. Rich greens and golds, true skin texture, editorial finish. Aspect ratio 3:4. Bottom-left: mbapromptwala.com in fine white lettering.
Ganesh chaturthi photo prompt for boys
Rain-wet visarjan street, wide lens, low angle, dhol strapped on. Nothing posed about it.
Prompt
Hold the uploaded boy’s face identical to the reference, including features, skin tone and hair. He is mid-beat on a rain-soaked street during visarjan, a dhol strapped across his chest, both sticks in motion. Off-white kurta pushed up at the sleeves and soaked through at the shoulders, saffron patka tied on the forehead, gulal streaked across one cheek. Head tipped back, mouth open in a shout. Friends and a decorated idol chariot behind, out of focus. Shot on Canon R5 from a low angle, 24mm f/1.4, flash mixed with ambient so the raindrops freeze bright against a dark street. Cool blue shadows, warm streetlight highlights, real motion blur on the sticks. Aspect ratio 4:5. Add mbapromptwala.com as a thin white watermark in the bottom-left.
How to use these prompts
Open ChatGPT or Gemini, upload one sharp front-facing photo, paste a prompt exactly as written, and send both together. If the face drifts, reply asking for a regenerate with the same face and nothing else changed.
Tips for a cleaner result
Put the face instruction first. Both models weight the opening line more heavily than anything later on.
Skip source photos with sunglasses, filters or an extreme angle. A plain daylight selfie beats a beautified one.
Change one thing per attempt. Asking for a new outfit, background and light in one follow-up usually breaks the face.
Keep 4:5 for feed, 9:16 for stories, 1:1 for the figurine.

FAQ
Why does my face change even with a face-lock line?
Usually the prompt asks for too many changes at once, or the source photo is too small. Crop tighter on the face and re-upload at full resolution.
ChatGPT or Gemini for these?
Gemini holds a face slightly better in my tests. ChatGPT follows camera and lighting instructions more closely.
